You will tend to eat more, especially snack foods, while sitting in front of the television. Viewing television is also a sedentary activity so you will not be getting any exercise during this time. Watching certain programs, such as news or violent action shows, may also be very stressful. The affect on your vision from watching too much television may also be detrimental.
Instead of watching television spend time together with your friends and family. You can spend time talking, playing cards or board games, or going for a walk or other physical activity. Your health will improve as well as your relationships with the people you care about most.
